Description
This talk will not contain grieve about the end of software projects. Instead, we will give some insight into the reasons for switching from a homegrown development towards bying a commercial sollution, Colectica in this case.
Besides the DDI-FlatDB we also discontinued the development of our questionnaire editor, our publishing pipeline and some other tooling around DDI metadata. Therefore this talk will also cover further planning on supporting lifecycle support for end users besides Colectica Designer.
And finally we will give an overview on the features being lost by discontinueing the FlatDB ecosystem in comparisson to the features we get from Colectica. This part will contain some thoughts on occuring gaps and how to close them.
