Description

With emerging new sensing technologies and available products, it becomes easier to use the optical fiber communication network as a sensing network. There are several methods to enable sensing over our existing fiber infrastructure.

In a similar event in November 2025 we discussed on backscattering based sensing. This event on February 12th will focus on sensing possibilities based on changes on State of Polarization (SOP).

We have invited four vendors and organisations to present their available product and analyzing tools. They will cover the following  topics:
- brief SOP product presentation
- enabling technologies: basic about the physical concept behind it, and how it works
- the use cases
- analyzing tools: some example av dataset (produced by equipment) and the output from the analyzing tools.

The event will be recorded.
