Description

Artificial intelligence isn't a new concept: It's been around for over 50 years. However the prevalence of AI and Generative AI has grown significantly in recent years in part due to the vast amounts of storage and computer power we now have readily available.

Some organisations have embraced the use of AI, whereas others are cautious about the balance of benefits versus risks associated with its use.

In this CyberSecMonth webinar, we will look at the challenges we face surrounding ethical use of modern AI and how organisations can avoid pitfalls associated with AI usage and AI generated content.

About the speakers

Andy Roebuck is an Information Security Manager at GÉANT, leading a security team focused on securing IT systems for GÉANT and its members. Andy's background is in IT security, infrastructure management, ISO27001 compliance and most importantly helping colleagues to be successful. Helping others to be successful is core to how Andy approaches his role as Information Security Manager, and keeping this ideal at the forefront of his work ensures a balanced approach to maintaining a high level of security whilst also enabling colleagues to get the most benefit from secure systems. As well as being an ISACA Certified Information Security Manager, Andy holds Lead Implementer accreditations for ISO27001 (Information Security Management) & ISO27701 (Privacy Information Management).

Floortje Jorna is AI officer at SURF. After years of being Privacy officer, she now got the focus on AI. It’s a new role within the organization, so she’s still in the process of shaping it. She is interested in what it takes for an organization to use AI in a trustworthy way; how does AI impacts your goals and (public) values, what strategic choices do you need to make and how can you stay in control when everything is changing and developing at a rapid speed?
