Description

In this infoshare we will explore what persistent identifiers are, how they can be used to uniquely identify people, resources, organisations and other concepts in research to provide a richer understanding of the linkages between entities and more context for reuse.  The value of PIDs and why NRENs are engaging in providing PID services will be addressed through two case studies from SURF and CSC. In discussion we will explore what roles GEANT and NRENs should play in PID services in the future.
