Description

This webinar is dedicated to the Vision 2030 of Arctic Connectivity, where we will explore how submarine cable systems can be pioneers by securing two diverse routes through the Arctic Ocean to ensure connectivity between Europe, Asia, and North America.

Offering this unique route will dramatically increase global connectivity with the overall purpose of resilience, diversification and de-risking, by integrating international infrastructures and innovation ecosystems in order to advance science and education, trade and business, public services and emerging technologies around shared democratic values.

These submarine cables can also be a piece of scientific instrument enabled to provide real time seabed measurements of our planet and this way contribute to research in a wide range of fields.

The workshop will showcase the perspective of research and education - why such cables are needed, how they are used in global collaborations for leading edge research, the nuances of procurement, build and implementation and through case studies demonstrated where it has been done.

Attendance will allow you to ask questions to experts in their field and provide you with a better understanding of how the vision to connect democracies can be realised and supported through research and education networks.
