DESCRIPTION:The Special Interest Group on Research Engagement Development
(SIG-RED) invites all interested persons to the online infoshare about the
EOSC EU Node services.\nThe EOSC EU Node was officially launched by the E
uropean Commission in October 2024 as the first European-level node of the
emerging EOSC Federation. It relies on the contributions of European repo
sitories\, research infrastructures and e-Infrastructures\, scientific ser
vice providers\, and several European National Research and Education Netw
orks (NRENs)\, including CESNET (Czech Republic)\, GRNET (Greece)\, PCSS (
Poland)\, Sikt (Norway)\, and SUNET (Sweden).\nThe EOSC EU Node is a colla
borative environment built on the FAIR principles\, promoting transparency
and accessibility with Open Science at its core. Currently\, it comprises
a robust set of six publicly available services:\n\n\nFile Sync and Share
 \n\n\nInteractive Notebooks\n\n\nLarge File Transfer\n\n\nVirtual Machines
 \n\n\nCloud Container Platform\n\n\nBulk Data Transfer\n\n\nThese services
address key challenges in modern research workflows\, enabling researcher
s to work efficiently in data-intensive environments\, across disciplines
and across borders. The application and infrastructure services of the EOS
C EU Node have been selected to support a wide range of research domains\,
providing a common baseline for researchers in all fields.\nIn this webin
ar\, participants will:\n\n\nLearn about the EOSC EU Node and its future p
lans\n\n\nDiscover training resources available via the EOSC EU Node Learn
ing Center\n\n\nDiscuss the benefits of promoting EOSC EU Node services fr
om the perspective of an NREN\n\n\nExplore HOMEROS-OSCARS use cases in Ear
th Sciences\n\n\nUse case 1: How the EOSC EU Node Interactive Notebooks se
rvice can facilitate day-to-day research processes in seismology and geode
sy.\n\n\nUse case 2: How the EOSC EU Node Virtual Machines service can ena
ble a reproducible processing environment for geodetic data.\n\n\n\n\nShar
e experiences and insights with the community.\n\n\n\nhttps://events.geant
