Description

Destination Earth is a flagship initiative of the European Commission to develop a highly-accurate digital model of the Earth (a digital twin of the Earth).

Destination Earth has three core components: the DestinE platform, the DestinE Data Lake and the Digital Twins.

Two main digital twins are under development: The Climate Change Adaptation Digital Twin (Climate Adaptation DT) and the Weather-Induced Extremes Digital Twin (Extremes DT). CSC-IT Center for Science in Finland is the coordinator of the Climate Adaptation DT.

In this infoshare we will learn more about the state of the art and the future plans of the Destination Earth initiative and of the Climate Adaptation DT. The infoshare will also be the opportunity to better understand how NRENs can support digital twins' implementation.
