6th SIG AI Meeting
RedIRIS
We invite the SIG AI community to join us in Madrid on 10–11 March for our Spring 2026 meeting, kindly hosted by RedIRIS.
As AI continues to evolve from a peripheral interest to a core strategic priority for NRENs, this "noon-to-noon" meeting aims to sharpen our thematic profile and explore the practical applications of AI in our sector.
Key themes for this meeting include:
-
Agentic AI: Exploring the shift from simple chatbots to autonomous agents and their potential impact on research and education.
-
Intelligent Networks: Deepening our understanding of AI-driven network management, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiency.
-
AI Policy & Governance: Discussing the regulatory landscape and how NRENs can navigate the complexities of AI ethics and policy.
-
Community Showcases: Insights from our host, REDIris, and other NRENs on their latest home-grown AI initiatives.
Whether you are already implementing AI services or are in the early stages of strategic planning, this meeting offers a collaborative space to share best practices and help define the future service portfolio of the GÉANT community.
Participation: This is a hybrid event. While we encourage in-person attendance in Madrid for networking, virtual participation will be available for our global community members.
This will be a meeting from noon to noon with a joint dinner on the evening of 10 March. Please have a look at our Wiki for more details: https://wiki.geant.org/x/IYBdTQ
